Alice Dreger is a historian of medicine and science, a sex researcher, a mainstream writer, and a patient advocate. Former chair of the Intersex Society of North America, she also served as an ethics consultant to an NIH-funded Translational Research Network on pediatric intersex care and co-edited a medical education guide on LGBT and Differences of Sex Development for the Association of American Medical Colleges. She has been on the faculty of several major universities, including most recently (2005-2015) as a full professor in Medical Humanities and Bioethics at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine.

Lyndal Roper was appointed Regius Professor of Modern History at the University of Oxford in 2011. In that same year, Roper was also elected a Fellow of the British Academy. She is a fellow of Oriel College, and an honorary fellow of Merton College, Oxford. In addition, she is an elected Fellow of the Royal Historical Society. Her research centers on aspects of early modern German social, cultural, gender, and religious history.

Merry Wiesner-Hanks is Distinguished Professor of History at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. Her research focuses are twofold: one as a historian of early modern Europe and the other as a world/global historian, with a primary focus on women, gender, and sexuality within these. She is most recently the author of A Concise History of the World(Cambridge University Press, 2015). Wiesner-Hanks is the Vice-President and President Elect of the World History Association and serves on the National Advisory Board of the Society for History Education.
